Bioplastics have an exciting potential as an alternative to fossil-fuel based plastics. However, like most new technologies, social acceptance and trust are key for bioplastics technologies that are yet to reach scale and become mainstream.

The aims of this project are to identify early and emerging public concerns, expectations and perceptions relating to bioplastics and unpack public trust to support the responsible development of this technology.
